Probably the best one I’ve ever made, it’s awesome!

  • Pork belly – 1 lb, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • Soy sauce – 2 tbsp
  • Sugar-free hoisin sauce – 2 tbsp
  • Rice vinegar – 1 tbsp
  • Garlic – 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh ginger – 1 tsp, grated
  • Water – ¼ cup
  • Sesame oil – 1 tbsp
  • Green onions – 2 tbsp, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds – 1 tsp (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Preheat Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Prepare the Marinade

  • In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, sugar-free hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and water to create the marinade.

3. Sear the Pork Belly

  • Heat sesame oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the pork belly cubes and cook until browned on all sides, about 5–7 minutes.

4. Add the Marinade

  • Pour the prepared marinade over the pork belly and stir to coat the meat evenly.

5. Bake

  • Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven.
  • Bake for 30–35 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the pork belly becomes tender.

6. Rest and Garnish

  • Remove the skillet from the oven and let the dish rest for a few minutes. The sauce will thicken slightly as it cools.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
