- Pork belly – 1 lb, cut into 1-inch cubes
- Soy sauce – 2 tbsp
- Sugar-free hoisin sauce – 2 tbsp
- Rice vinegar – 1 tbsp
- Garlic – 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh ginger – 1 tsp, grated
- Water – ¼ cup
- Sesame oil – 1 tbsp
- Green onions – 2 tbsp, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds – 1 tsp (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Preheat Oven
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Prepare the Marinade
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, sugar-free hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and water to create the marinade.
3. Sear the Pork Belly
- Heat sesame oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the pork belly cubes and cook until browned on all sides, about 5–7 minutes.
4. Add the Marinade
- Pour the prepared marinade over the pork belly and stir to coat the meat evenly.
5. Bake
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the pork belly becomes tender.
6. Rest and Garnish
- Remove the skillet from the oven and let the dish rest for a few minutes. The sauce will thicken slightly as it cools.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
