all-purpose flour
1 3/4 c
shortening
1 Tbsp
sugar
1 Tbsp
apple cider vinegar
1 lg
egg
1/2 c
ice water
How To Make foolproof pie crust
1 Add all ingredients except egg and water to a large bowl.
2 Mix with a pastry cutter or fork until it looks like gravel.
3 In a separate bowl or liquid measuring cup, beat together the egg and water.
4 Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture, stirring with a fork. Form dough into a ball and wrap in plastic wrap.
5 Chill 15 minutes before rolling out. The dough can be left in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or it can be frozen until ready to use.
