Step 1: Prepare the Filling
- In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until well blended.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the vanilla extract, salt, and flour, mixing until fully incorporated.
- Finally, add the buttermilk and mix well to combine.
Step 2: Assemble the Pie
- Place the unbaked pie shell on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil to catch any overflow.
- Pour the buttermilk mixture into the pie shell, filling it to the top. If there’s extra filling, pour it into an ungreased custard cup.
Step 3: Bake the Pie
