Classic Buttermilk Pie

Step 1: Prepare the Filling

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until well blended.
  2. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract, salt, and flour, mixing until fully incorporated.
  4. Finally, add the buttermilk and mix well to combine.

Step 2: Assemble the Pie

  1. Place the unbaked pie shell on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil to catch any overflow.
  2. Pour the buttermilk mixture into the pie shell, filling it to the top. If there’s extra filling, pour it into an ungreased custard cup.
